My bike has been getting very hard to start. Mostly cold. Some one told me that valve's could cause this. I checked the valve clearence. The left intake valve is pretty much on the money (.005). I can't even get the smallet feeler gauge (.015)in on the right intake valve. Does this mean that the right intake valve is stuck or just out of adjustment? Both ext. valves are at .011 to .013. Book calls for .011. The .013 is real tight and leaves scratches on the feeler gauge.

Any input is appreciated.

I assume that the clearance on the tight int. valve is .0015 instead of .015. If so, then the valve seat and face are wearing. You need to pull the cylinder head and inspect/replace the valves soon. This is very common in the CRF 250 and 450s. There are options other than OEM components. Feel free to call me if you need any help. I am sure that Monty and others on this board have some input on this too!

Thanks, I am going to pull the top end and take it to get fixed. Now all I have to do is save up some more pennies.
